Real Estate team joins LS EDC as investor
After closing on the purchase of the Hartley Building in December, LANE4 Property Group has also joined the Lee's Summit Economic Development Council as an investor.
The Hartley Building, located in historic downtown Lee's Summit, is the only Lee's Summit building in the group's portfolio. LANE4, based in Kansas City, is a commercial real estate broker with a portfolio including retail, mixed-use, office, multi-family, and industrial products. Company vice president, Weston Buckley, said he sees the company having a bigger presence in Lee's Summit.
“Lee’s Summit has so many of the fundamentals that we believe in. A clear commitment to its residents, strong schools and community amenities, a genuinely thriving downtown, sustainable growth and a culture that encourages economic development,” said Buckley.
As for the recent purchase, Budkley said there were several reasons it was attractive to his firm.
“We love the character and history of the Hartley Building," he said. "We are looking forward to keeping both of those intact by proactively maintaining the building to keep it in good repair and form, as well as doing all that we can to help ensure the success of our tenants at the Hartley.”
Buckley said it was important for the company to join the LSEDC when it bought the Hartley building in order to plug in to the community.
“Connecting with the local EDC, neighborhood groups, and other affiliations helps us to stay up to date on what’s going on in our community and allows us to give back. Our goal in everything we do is to create value, not only for ourselves as a local business, but for the communities we choose to be a part of,” Buckley said.
LSEDC President and CEO Rick McDowell said that the company is a welcome addition.
“LANE4’s leadership has made it clear that they want to take an active role in our community. We are always happy to have leaders focused on giving back,” McDowell said.
In addition to the Hartley Building, LANE4 manages properties throughout the Kansas City region including the Red Bridge Shopping Center in South Kansas City, Cedar Tree Shopping Center in Belton, 95Metcalf South in Overland Park, State Line Shopping Center in Kansas City, and Santa Fe Square in Olathe.
