LIESL: Each week, we'll take a few minutes to give you the news, happenings, and events around Lee's Summit.
NICK: The Lee’s Summit Board of Education will meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Tuesday to make its decision whether to uphold the termination of teacher and football coach, Joe Oswald. Superintendent Dr. David Buck made the decision to terminate Oswald for use of a racial slur. A public hearing was held before the Board on June 23. LIESL: A popular entrepreneurial event hosted by a local nonprofit is set to return this week. Velocity Lee’s Summit, a local group dedicated to supporting and increasing startup activity in the area, is hosting its signature Pitch Pub Crawl event this Thursday in downtown Lee’s Summit. LIESL: Summit Technology Academy and its partnership with the University of Central Missouri at the Missouri Innovation Campus continues to get national attention.Federal Aviation Administration administrator Steve Dickson visited the campus recently touring the new Aerospace Academy.
