With construction of its fourth middle school well under way, the Lee's Summit R-7 School District has been working with a community-based team to create new boundaries for the middle schools which will house students in grades 6 - 8.
The Middle School Boundary Team is comprised of parents, staff, administrators and community members. The team used guiding criteria developed by members and community input collected this summer. The boundary changes will not impact elementary or high school attendance zones.
According to a letter sent to the community, there are multiple ways residents can offer input on the options provided by the Boundary Team. The process for offering feedback is below.
Step 1: View final proposals, comprehensive district data, detailed maps and an interactive tool that allows you to plug your address into proposed maps on our LSR7 Middle School Transition website.
Step 2: Share your feedback in the following ways:
Provide your feedback in an online survey. The survey will close at 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 12. (An earlier communication stated the 9th. It has been extended.)
Meet with Boundary Study Team members to review maps, ask questions, and provide feedback at one of the following community events:
6 p.m., Sept. 7, Bernard Campbell Middle School commons
6 p.m., Sept. 8, Pleasant Lea Middle School library media center
6 p.m., Sept. 9, Summit Lakes Middle School commons
