A student from Lee’s Summit High School in the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District received recognition as a Semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Cara Cha’s high scores on the PSAT distinguish her as one of 16,000 Semifinalists nationwide, which is less than 1% of the county’s seniors. Cha can now apply to be one of the Finalists, who compete for 2,500 National Merit Scholarships in the spring.
