The twice-weekly Downtown Lee's Summit Farmers Market has returned and will run every Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Market located off Second and Douglas streets.
Cinco de Mayo festivities are also scheduled to take place this week, including parties at The Goat Brewing Company and Diametric Brewing. Flavor will be hosting a Cinco de Mayo Cocktail and Cooking Class on Friday.
Live music enthusiasts can catch former Lee's Summit Journal sports writer and editor Troy Christman for the acoustic "Cinco de Troyo" show starting at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Pink Elephant in downtown.
In other news, the Summit Christian Academy Varsity Football team is set to host its fifth annual Flag Football Camp, open to boys entering 1st-8th grades for the 2023-24 school year, regardless of whether they attend SCA or not. The camp will take place every Monday in May from 6-8 p.m.
Guest contributor Jane Bollin's latest tour around Lee's Summit has also been released on the Link2LeesSummit.com website, serving as a snapshot and tribute to her adopted home town of the past 20 years.
